Rev. Mike Spitters (Pastor Mike)

Senior Minister

I could talk about ham radio for hours and probably will, given the slightest encouragement. One of the experiences that shaped me most was living in Taiwan for a year, where I learned to approach people and unfamiliar ideas with curiosity, humility, and the understanding that my perspective is not the only one.

I studied at Hope College, TCU’s Brite Divinity School, and Chicago Theological Seminary. The parts of ministry I love most are preaching and the honest, surprising conversations that happen in Life Groups, where faith becomes personal and connected to real life.

Outside of ministry, I enjoy smoking meats, upgrading my 4Runner, welding, and collecting far more tools than anyone reasonably needs. I never turn down good BBQ, and my dream dinner guest would be James Taylor, ideally with some singing involved.

My guiding principle is simple: “Increase love wherever you go.”
