Celebration Sunday 9-13-2020

As we wind our way to the start of the school year this week in Manhattan Beach, we here at MBCC are getting ready for the start of our new program year.  Given the circumstances of our continuing response to the pandemic, as you might expect, it will not look the way it has in years past, but we will celebrate, nonetheless.

This year, on Sunday, September 13th we will hold a “Celebration Sunday.”  (As we are not yet able to come together in person for worship, it felt inaccurate to call it Homecoming Sunday this year.)  As part of this special Sunday, we will invite all of you to participate in a couple of special ways…

  • On Friday the 11th (after 3:30 p.m.) and on Saturday the 12th, you are invited to come by the church and help decorate the lower wall of the south side of our Community Hall with cheerful greetings and words of hope. (Chalk will be provided.)
  • Then, on Sunday the 13th, all are invited to take part in a post-worship drive-by celebration.  Cars will enter at the bottom of the driveway (off of Rowell) and be greeted by our worship team on the stairs next to our lower patio.

Watch for more information about Celebration Sunday in the next couple of weeks.  We look forward to marking this special occasion with all of you!

Shalom…Rev. Mark
