MBCC has agreed to host six blood drives in 2021: Jan 10, Mar 14, May 16, July 18, Sept 19, and Nov 21. Please mark your calendars. These drives are critical, particularly due to the impact COVID-19 is having on our community. In 2020, MBCC’s 5 drives collected 158 units of blood, impacting 474 lives. The Red Cross has again reached out to thank MBCC for our support and commitment to hosting these drives.
The Red Cross has implemented blood donation deferrals, asking that individuals postpone their donation for 28 days following any travel to China, Hong Kong, Macau, Iran, Italy, or South Korea as well as a COVID-19 diagnosis or contact with a person who has the virus or is suspected to have it.
To ensure everyone’s safety
- All donors must wear masks/face coverings
- Staff will use masks and new gloves with all donors
- All staff and donors will have their temperatures taken
- Donors need to use hand sanitizer upon entry
- All equipment will be wiped down in between donations.
