"Bible Explorers" Sunday School Program
Our Bible Explorers Sunday School program builds a basic foundation of Christian education our young people can take with them for a lifetime of learning. Bible Explorers is a series of workshops that the children rotate through every four weeks. One Bible lesson is explored each month through various fun and interesting worshops such as drama, art, cooking, storytelling, puppetry, games and video. By bringing our children the word of God through various and interesting workshops, we keep them engaged and wanting to come back week after week to experience each lesson.
The Beatitudes
January - February
The Beatitudes will be the focus in the following six weeks in our Bible Explorer's program. The Beatitudes are some of the things that Jesus shared with the people. The word Beatitude means "blessings." The children will learn that God blesses those who follow Jesus' teachings and that Jesus' followers are gentle, kind and peaceful. In our Bible Explorer workshops we will act out the Beatitudes in Apostle's Playhouse. We will play the Beatitudes bingo game in Antioch Arcade. In Praising Puppets we will learn how God wants us to act and how God takes care of us. Fun will be had as a word poster is made of the attitudes and situations in which God blesses us in Creation Station. In Holywood, we will see a video on Jesus presenting the Beatitudes and learn about a different kind of kingdom. And we will learn some of the words in the Beatitudes and play the game Beautitude Bash in Good News. We invite and encourage you to come with us each week as we rotate through our workshops and discover our Bible stories.
ADVENT & CHRISTMAS
December
During the month of December we will be learning about Advent and the preperations for the Big Birthday. We will focus on the symbols of the season, the true meaning of them and how they actually relate to CHRISTmas. Christmas Day will be a Family Worship service where the children Kindergarten through fifth grade will attend church for the morning message.
