Monday, July 18, 2011 In Interlaken
Today, we saw some of the natural beauty of God’s creation. We traveled from Interlaken to Grindelwald via our tour bus…by train to Kleine Scheidegg…by cog railway to Jungfraujoch. We spend an hour viewing the surrounding mountains, glaciers, and snow. Altitude of our viewing playform was 11,782 ft. It was absolutely gorgeous. We left Jungfraujoch via cog railway to Lauterbrunen. Before dinner, we stop at Trummelbach Falls. The falls have various viewing stations…10 levels in all...internal to the mountain. The roar was very loud with a flow rate of over 20,000 liters per second!! We had a delicious dinner at the Silverhorn restaurant (thank you, Erica, for the recommendation). On our way back to Interlaken, we stop at Staubbach Falls and climbed a steep hillside to get behind the falls. We arrived back at our hotel in Interlaken about 10 pm…dead tired and ready for bed! We whole heartedl recommend spending time in this area if you ever come to Europe. Check the picture that shows the map of our travel. Grindelwald is just off the picture on the left side.
